The Assistant Director of Development serves to provide organizational support through fundraising including grant writing, donor relationships, and special events. Contribute to overall team efforts in planning and development and shares in the decision-making process, implementing and promoting all decisions in a spirit of cooperation. 

 
Reports to: Director of Development 
 
Hours of Availability – Typically AM hours, Monday – Friday; weekends as needed  
 
Compensation: DOE

Job Specific Qualifications:

·         Minimum of two (2) years in fund development with experience in grants administration and compliance 
·         Intermediate Microsoft Office skills 
·         Knowledge of local philanthropic community a plus 
·         Demonstrated ability to work in multiple data management systems 

·         Excellent writing, editing, analysis, verbal, and interpersonal skills; strong attention to detail and accuracy 

·         Ability to work collaboratively across the organization agency to successfully garner information and input 

·         Deadline-driven and possess especially strong organizational capabilities 

 
 
 
 
Career Summary (not all-inclusive list): 
The Assistant Director of Development identifies and manages a portfolio of qualified prospects and donors.  Though developed or established processes will ensure that donors experience high-quality interactions that foster long-term engagement. Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and venues, committee members and event attendees. Data entry of donor and event participants. Active engagement in pre/post event activities and logistics. Attend all events as scheduled. 
 
Grants Administration: In collaboration with the Leadership team and key team members, support the preparation of proposals and ensure submission of high-quality grant and contract applications. Coordinate with development and program teams to write and review grant applications and budgets for grant applications. Maintain files and accurate documentation and internal systems for compliance and audit support. Provide support in identifying new and key funding opportunities, advise program management on funder guidelines and application requirements to assess the best fit between funder and Rescue Mission. 

Collect, scrub, and report data to various funders utilizing multiple databases for grant application and reporting purposes. Track grant goals and benchmarks; prepare regular internal and external reports on progress, systematically analyze awarded grants to produce required monthly/quarterly/annual reports. Facilitate monthly Grants Management meetings. 

All team members may be asked to complete other duties as assigned by the leadership/management with an expectation to complete these assignments as requested.
