Food Services Supervisors/Cook serve to assist with the successful operation of the Food Services Ministry while supporting the team members, guests, volunteers and local community through Christ-filled love and respect.
Hours of Availability:
Part time weekend shift.
Saturday - 4:30 am - 1:30 pm ; Breakfast for 200 - 250 ppl;; Lunch for 100 - 150 ppl
- ServSafe certification; preferred or willing to obtain at company expense.
- Knowledge base of Kitchen Operation, Equipment, Volume Cooking, & Food Safety.
- Ability to adapt menu based on current donations.
· Working knowledge of local community resources.
- Compliance with Food Safety & Service standards.
- Willing to work flexible schedules as needed (all shifts, weekends and holidays) .
Career Summary:
Serves in a variety of roles to provide seamless processes for providing meals to our guests and the local community. Ministers to the community by providing a safe, clean, and secure environment for food services. Performs food preparation and line cook duties as well as serves meals. Maintains freezer and assists in planning and organizing special events. Acting manager in Food Services Manager’s absence by providing support to the team members, guests, and volunteers. Dishwashing duties. Active engagement with volunteers, guests, team members, and the local community.
All Rescue Mission of Roanoke team members may be asked to complete other duties as assigned by the leadership/management. Expectation is to complete these assignments as requested.

- Extensive periods of standing, stooping, turning, twisting, pushing, and pulling objects up to 50 pounds; 100 pounds with assistance.
