Supervisors serve to assist with the successful operation of the Food Services Ministry while supporting the team members, guests, volunteers and local community through Christ-filled love and respect.
Hours of Availability:
Full Time with a flexible hours and days vary - availability 4"30am - 7:30pm; 7 days - rotating schedule for coverage
Compensation: DOE

- ServSafe certification; preferred or willing to obtain at company expense
- Culinary Skills – Proven ability to prepare and cook a variety of meals following established recipes, portion sizes, and food presentation standards.
- Menu & Recipe Execution – Experience following menus, adapting recipes as needed, and preparing meals for large groups or in a high-volume kitchen environment.
- Efficiency & Timing – Ability to coordinate multiple dishes simultaneously, manage cooking times, and ensure meals are served on schedule.
- Equipment Use – Familiarity with commercial kitchen equipment (ovens, grills, fryers, slicers, mixers, etc.) and ability to maintain them properly.
- Willing to work flexible schedules as needed (all shifts, weekends, and holidays
- Compliance with Food Safety & Service standards
Supervisors serve in a variety of supportive roles to provide seamless processes for providing meals to our guests and the local community. Includes line plan, prepare and cook food items to ensure the highest quality service and experience. Volunteer coordinator, serve meals and ensure the kitchen, pantry and dining room are clean, safe and secure for each meal. Maintains the freezer and assist in planning and organizing special events.
All Rescue Mission of Roanoke team members may be asked to complete other duties as assigned by the leadership/management. Expectation is to complete these assignments as requested.

- Extensive periods of standing, stooping, turning, twisting, pushing, and pulling objects up to 50 pounds

Since 1948, the Rescue Mission has continued a tradition of comprehensive care to those in crisis in our community. The homeless, the hungry, the chemically addicted, the impoverished and the hopeless have all found a warm welcome at the Rescue Mission.

The Rescue Mission is open 24 hours/day and 365 days/year and provides food, clothing, shelter, an on-site clinic, Recovery Program, case management, and aftercare services.
