- Responsible for team members, management and operation of the store and donation center, including customer service, facility operation, communications, inventory management and safety and security of company property.
- Responsible for the use of proper sales procedures and transactions, register transactions, store, cleanliness, stocking, pricing, and merchandising of donations.
- Meet sales goals while engaging customers to promote sales.
- Responsible for store merchandising, pricing to value and movement of all inventories (clothing, houseware, furniture, etc.), displays, signage, and windows.
- Responsible for implementing the Donation Acceptance & Processing guidelines; process deliveries as appropriate.
Administrative/Recordkeeping
- Oversees opening and closing the store; includes, the register, counting the cash and checks, and completing reports.
- Submit work orders for IT and Maintenance concerns as appropriate.
- Complete and submit Accident & Incident Report when required
- Submits required paperwork on a timely basis; register closing paperwork, performance reviews, and reports.
- Attend Mission meetings and training as scheduled
Team Management
- Assist Director of Retail Sales with team member supervision, training, development, and performance management
Safety is everyone’s responsibility
- Be aware of safety/security concerns and report to the appropriate person(s).
- Assist with conflict resolution among clients, team members, and volunteers according to established procedures.
Volunteer Engagement: A strategy that builds the capacity of Rescue Mission through employee and volunteer partnership. It is built on the development and implementation of high-impact, meaningful volunteer opportunities that create positive outcomes for the organization and the volunteer. Lead, train, and engage volunteers to areas/projects as needed.
All Rescue Mission of Roanoke team members may be asked to complete other duties as assigned by the leadership/management. The expectation is to complete these assignments as requested.
